Hosting a World of Concrete opening day luncheon, PCA President and CEO Gregory Scott and 2013 Chairman Cary Cohrs (American Cement LLC) underscored the group’s commitment to industry-wide promotion and greater advocacy efforts in the nation’s capital. The February 5 event marked the introduction of newly appointed PCA leadership to representatives from major national groups in concrete production and construction, and one of the first industry gatherings following the PCA headquarters shift from north suburban Chicago to Washington, D.C.

Solomon Colors has added a line of slab polishing and finishing agents to its namesake and Legacy brands for coloring ready mixed and manufactured concrete. Following a distribution deal announced at the World of Concrete, the company will begin stocking Lythic products at 14 warehouses across the U.S. and Canada, which in turn supply more than 1,000 wholesale or retail outlets. Each of Solomon’s 24-member sales team will represent the flagship and Lythic lines, along with the slab restoration Brickform brand. Certain Lythic products will replace Solomon alternatives.
