Graniterock Counsel Squeri succeeds President and CEO Woolpert

The Graniterock board has completed a succession plan after the untimely drowning death of President and CEO Bruce Woolpert, naming Tom Squeri to the helm.

A Santa Clara University and Santa Clara Law School graduate, Squeri has served as general counsel since joining the aggregate, ready mixed and roadbuilding operator in 1998. More recently gaining the vice president title, he has also led resource development and environmental management teams, and served on the Graniterock executive committee. Board and Woolpert family members targeted selection of the next generation of leadership from within the 112-year-old company to preserve its culture and values.

Mark Kaminski, named acting president and chief executive officer in late June, continues as Graniterock chairman, providing strategic leadership. Succeeding Squeri as general counsel is Kevin Jeffery, who likewise becomes corporate secretary; he has been assistant general counsel since joining the company in 2006.
