Scale-Tron updates batch controller user interface

Software and screens on the BatchTron control systems have been updated. Scale-Tron notes that better graphics capability in the latest touch screens give an improvement in look and feel, making operation more intuitive and reducing training time. Internal software has been upgraded with many new features that improve accuracy and quickly diagnose problems with plant machinery.

BatchTron I, II and III are PLC and touch-screen based controllers that can replace the more common PC based controllers, and exhibit higher reliability and lower maintenance costs. Suited to both ready-mix and concrete products plants, BatchTron handles any number of scales feeding any number of mixers; its memory holds over 800 formulas. Benefits include ease of use and fast, accurate batching through use of moisture compensation, total self-tuning of batching parameters and several levels of password protection for formula entry and setup parameters. Reporting can be added via BatchLink software, which has also been upgraded and runs on a nearby office computer. BatchTron has direct-load cell inputs but can also work through weight indicators when necessary. All controls are by touch buttons on the screen; no external controls are required.   — Scale-Tron Inc., www.scaletron.com
