A major player in Texas precast/prestressed transportation products, Heldenfels recently fabricated 165-ft. AASHTO Modified VI girders for the County Road 179 bridge along the SH 130/45 toll road east of Austin. The project marks a new Lone Star State length record for prestressed concrete girders subject to land transport. Heldenfels cast 14 of the 81-ton beams at its headquarters plant along Interstate 35, about 40 miles from the C.R. 179 site. The twin-structure crossing has seven 165-ft. center span and seven 110-ft. end span girders supporting east- and west-bound lanes.
