Effective August 22, William J. Sandbrook will become U.S. Concrete president, chief executive officer and director. He was most recently chief executive officer of Oldcastle Products and Distribution, responsible for Building Envelope, Building Products and Distribution businesses in the U.S. and Canada. He had formerly served as Oldcastle Architectural CEO and Oldcastle Materials West Division president.

Sandbrook’s building products sector experience and impressive track record for growth, notes U.S. Concrete Chairman Eugene Davis, “will be great additions to the company. Bill’s proven vision and leadership skills should result in a smooth and successful transition.”

A West Point graduate with 13 years’ Army service, Sandbrook holds two University of Pennsylvania graduate degrees: Wharton School of Business MBA and Master of Science in Systems Engineering, plus Master’s degrees from Naval War College and Salve Regina University. At U.S. Concrete, he succeeds Michael Harlan, who has been at the helm for four years and, as a company co-founder, was the charter chief financial officer.

Concurrent with the U.S. Concrete appointment, Oldcastle parent CRH announced Sandbrook’s resignation, with the heads of the Building Products, Building Envelope and Distribution businesses becoming direct reports to CRH Americas CEO Mark Towe.
