Sling tag affords OSHA inspectors different view of long-life labels

Mazzella Lifting Technologies has developed a clear, durable web sling tag, duraKlear, with printing on the inside face to eliminate wear or rub off commonly leading to OSHA citation. The new tag likewise addresses a compliance challenge in the ASME B30.9 standard, which states, “Identification of the sling should be maintained by the user so as to be legible during the life of the sling.”

duraKlear replaces current orange style tags and has been subjected to extensive durability testing but will not carry additional cost, according to Tony Mazzella, chief executive officer of the Cleveland-based manufacturer. Benefits and characteristics of the new tag, he adds, include: lettering remains legible for life of sling; formulated with UV inhibitors and abrasion-resistant materials; dirt, oil and grease wipe off; ease of inspection; and, custom logo availability.

Mazzella Lifting will offer private labeling on larger orders or by specific request. Additional information can be obtained from Michael Minissale, 440/239-7000 ext. 214; [email protected]
