The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development scheduled an early December presentation of an award recognizing Gate Precast/Ashland as the state’s largest SHARP (Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program) Certified manufacturing facility. SHARP cites employers with exemplary safety and health management systems.

“The Consultation SHARP award is one of the greatest honors this department can bestow on a company. Being a SHARP site carries the responsibility of maintaining or surpassing the standards you have set for yourself and your employees as you will be alighting the way for others that follow,” said Tennessee Commissioner of Labor & Workforce Development James Neeley.

Ashland is the second of eight Gate Precast plants to achieve SHARP certification, the company’s Jacksonville flagship leading the way in March 2009. Gate Precast management is eyeing SHARP status across the enterprise.
