ASTM C1697-10 Standard Specification for Blended Supplementary Cementitious Materials covers product containing two or three ASTM-compliant SCM and used to impart hydraulic or pozzolanic action in concrete or mortar. Blended or interground, the agents must be ASTM C618-grade fly ash, C1240 silica fume or C989 slag. Developed by ASTM Subcommittee C09.24 on Supplementary Cementitious Materials, the new C1697-10 standard likewise references the American Concrete Institute Manual of Concrete Practice and ACI 232.1R Use of Natural Pozzolans in Concrete; 232.2R Use of Fly Ash in Concrete; 233R Slag Cement in Concrete and Mortar; and, 234R Guide for the Use of Silica Fume in Concrete.
