Construction industry professionals are invited to submit projects to the North America Tekla Structures BIM [Building Information Modeling] Awards, an annual competition offering each winner a Tekla Structures Viewer and 2011 User Meeting registration. In addition, all North America BIM Award winners automatically are entered into the Tekla Global BIM Awards. Projects are to be submittedÛat no cost–on or before July 23.

Awards winners will be recognized in four categories: (1) Industrial/Civil Model Ò Steel and/or Concrete, e.g., power and process facilities, materials handling, heavy-concrete installations, water treatment plant, bridges; (2) Commercial/Institutional Model Ò Steel, i.e., predominantly steel, but can include other materials, for office, retail, government, sporting, religious, performing arts, educational, parking, and transportation structures; (3) Commercial/Institutional Model Ò Concrete, i.e., predominantly concrete, but can include other materials, for aforementioned commercial/institutional structures; and, (4) Collaborative Project, i.e., commercial/institutional projects in which Tekla Structures has played a significant role and multiple parties have collaborated using BIM to benefit project delivery.
