Effective April 1, Jeffrey D. Smith has been promoted from executive vice president to president and chief executive officer of High Industries Inc., responsible for High Concrete Group LLC, High Steel Structures Inc. and High Steel Service Center LLC. He will also serve as co-chair of the High companies executive committee. Smith, who holds an MBA from Southern Methodist University, joined High Industries from CertainTeed Corp., where he was vice president of Operations, Roofing Products. He succeeds W. Thomas Kennedy, III, who will become executive assistant to Chairman S. Dale High, providing the executive committee operational support and counsel.
