Early-October Associated Press reports indicated that Overland Park, Kan.-based Ash Grove Cement, the nation’s largest independently owned producer, will suspend production at nine of its 10 U.S. mills as soon as mid-November Û earlier than the company’s usual seasonal shutdowns.
