Announcing a three-vehicle demonstration tour featuring LiftPod, described by product engineers as the first personal and portable lift available in the U.S., Oshkosh Corp. subsidiary JLG Industries Inc. aims to provide East-coast facility managers an opportunity to observe its portable aerial work platform in action, as well as enter a LiftPod giveaway contest. En route to 10 states over three months, JLG representatives are bringing the three LiftPod vans to various locations to answer questions about the product’s features and provide hands-on demonstrations. The tour ends in September with stops in Virginia.

Featuring an enclosed platform and 14-ft. working height, the LiftPod provides greater stability than ladders and improved safety, JLG emphasizes, allowing workers to move hands-free within the circumscribed area. Additionally, the platform contains a work tray to carry tools and materials, increasing productivity and quality of work. LiftPod elevation is controlled by a battery-powered drill or an optional battery pack for increased flexibility and affordability.

The LiftPod is pickup truck- or SUV-portable between sites and moves around the work site on wheels. Each 50-lb. module can be carried and moved by one person, and the entire unit can be assembled in less than 30 seconds.
