A $500,000 contract to supply 105 flights of precast stairs and 36 landings for the new Port Authority Transit Hub (PATH) Station at the World Trade Center site in New York City has been awarded to Castcon Stone, Inc. The Pittsburgh producer was awarded the job through Jersey Precast as part of a Port Authority of New York and New Jersey-owned project to rebuild one of the busiest subway stations damaged during the September 11 terrorist attacks. Scheduled to begin October 2009, Castcon’s production for the Santiago Calatrava-designed project will entail outfitting all precast stair units with photo-luminescent metal nosings. Delivery of components will commence in 2010 and continue through 2013.
