Sonoma Cast Stone has added to its specialty precast product line an egg-shaped, 500-gal.-capacity fermentation tank. A composite of two distinct mixes, the tank comprises an outer shell of fiber-reinforced, recycled concrete and an inner layer of conventional concrete, creating a 3.5-in.-thick wall enclosing a nearly 57-in.-diameter cavity. Because the face mix–trademarked as EarthCrete–is available in a range of colors and finishes, the egg can be produced in various tints without risk of pigmented material coming in contact with the tank’s contents. An optional heating/cooling tubing system embedded in the shell casting maintains desired temperature. —www.sonomastone.com
