Waukesha, Wis.-based Spancrete Group announced in late March its acquisition of MobileGreen Precast LLC, the nation’s first operator of its kind. The mobile precast model involves developing temporary precast plants near a project, reducing transportation requirements, fuel consumption and construction costs, while yielding environmental benefits.

This proprietary technology provides a quick construction solution that minimizes its impact on the environment and reduces overall expenditures, says Spancrete Group CEO John Nagy. As well as giving Spancrete the opportunity to experience broader national reach, this solution expands our operations while providing precast manufacturing services to locations where it otherwise may be difficult.

MobileGreen Precast provides green solutions for contractors, owners and developers across the nation [and] adds a fluid and vibrant component to the standard precast business model, affirms MobileGreen President Jeff Marek.

Rural areas with a shortage of precast providers and contractors will benefit the most from the mobile precast solution, he adds, as will customers in larger markets who may have been forced to turn to alternative construction methods due to a high demand on existing precast services.
