National Ready Mixed Concrete Association’s recently released Version 3 of Concrete Pavement Analyst (CPA) software is the latest iteration of a popular parking area marketing tool. Using American Concrete Institute and Asphalt Institute recommendations, CPA v.3 quantifies the differences between concrete and asphalt pavements to compare total ownership costs, thus providing specifiers the information needed to make sound pavement decisions. Among Version 3 features cited by the association are a new asphalt cost calculator enabling easy conversion of in-place square foot cost to in-place per ton cost; option to include aggregate subbase in concrete cost calculation to more accurately reflect real-life designs; reformatted, user-friendly reports that are concise and easy to read; and, updated default values for material and labor costs. Since Version 1 was introduced in 2004, NRMCA representatives note, thousands of ready mixed professionals have used the software to make a compelling case for concrete.

Existing CPA discs can be traded for Version 3 at $3.50 each. Without trade-in, new copies are $25 ($100 for nonmembers/partners). Existing CPA Program Partners are charged $5 for new discs. Organizations can become partners through a purchase of 100 discs for $1,000.
