Today, environmental considerations have prompted a movement to exploit the readily available energy source. The U.S. Department of Energy has set a goal of obtaining six percent of the country’s electricity from wind by 2020 Û a goal consistent with the current rate of wind energy growth nationwide, according to the U.S. Wind Energy Association. Twenty three states have farms in use or under construction.
