Effective May 22, John Piecuch has succeeded U.S. Concrete’s Vince Foster, who has served as nonexecutive chairman since the company’s 1999 founding. Piecuch joined the U.S. Concrete board in 2007 after a tenure as president and chief executive officer of MMI Products, Inc., a Houston-based concrete reinforcement and accessories business that CRH/Oldcastle acquired in 2006. Prior to MMI, Piecuch served in the same capacities with Lafarge Corp. in Reston, Va. He is also on the board and chairs the audit committee of Canada’s Brampton Brick Ltd.

Foster will remain a U.S. Concrete director and a member of the board’s audit, compensation and executive committees. As the inaugural chairman, he oversaw the financial and legal processes leading to U.S. Concrete’s initial public offering nine years ago. Foster notes of his successor: “We were fortunate to add someone of John’s stature to our board. Given his significant experience in the building and construction materials industry, as chairman of the board he will play a key leadership role in the continued evolution of the company.”
