With an eye toward industry-wide promotion of environmental management tools and Clean Water Act compliance, National Ready Mixed Concrete Association and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) officials have signed a Memorandum of Agreement titled Beyond Compliance: Principles of Environmental Stewardship – New Agreement to Reduce Environmental Footprint of Ready Mixed Concrete Operations.

This is another example of our industry’s longstanding commitment to being a good steward of the environment, says NRMCA President Robert Garbini. We are pleased EPA recognizes the efforts made by concrete producers. As their national trade association, NRMCA will continue to look for new methods to fit under our agreement with the agency.

The memorandum follows such related efforts as the well-established NRMCA Environmental Certification Course and Green-Star, a new environmental management system-based program specifically for ready mixed production.
