Fabcon received a Green Award at the 2007 Tekne Awards, presented by Minnesota High Tech Association in partnership with LifeScience Alley and Minnesota Technology, Inc., to recognize outstanding technology leaders and their achievements. Judges selected one recipient from a pool of three finalists in 16 categories, representing many facets of technological innovation in Minnesota. Award categories recognize emerging leaders and technology businesses ( $50 million annual revenues) and those that are established (> $50 million annual revenues). Among Fabcon’s green initiatives, VersaCore+Green precast wall panels were introduced in early 2007, providing commercial builders, architects and property owners energy-efficient concrete components that contain as much as 58 percent recycled content by value. The producer’s environmental best practices extend also to its manufacturing plants, where process water is recycled, as well as excess material that is crushed for use in more panels or in the base layer under new road construction.
Cheryl Lang, vice president and chief financial officer of Tindall Corp., has been named 2007 Outstanding CPA in Business and Industry by the South Carolina Association of CPAs. The award recognizes ethical commitment to the profession, outstanding management of technology and resources, visionary knowledge of broad business issues, championing of new methods and solutions, and the inspiration and motivation of others to excellence. Lang joined Tindall as controller in 1990 and was named vice president and CFO in 2006.
