Nrmca Names Malisch R.D. Gaynor Award Winner

American Concrete Institute Senior Managing Director Ward R. Malisch is the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association’s 2008 Richard D. Gaynor Award recipient.

American Concrete Institute Senior Managing Director Ward R. Malisch is the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association’s 2008 Richard D. Gaynor Award recipient. The award will be presented during the 2008 NRMCA Annual Convention in Las Vegas, leading into the March 11-15 ConExpo-Con/Agg gathering. Named for 42-year NRMCA veteran Dick Gaynor, the award is given annually by the NRMCA Research, Engineering and Standards Committee to members who have demonstrated a lifetime commitment to the betterment of the ready mixed concrete industry.

In addition to being an active member of NRMCA and the RES Committee, Malisch has held various positions from academia to construction; served as Concrete International publisher and Concrete Construction editor; and, served on the American Society of Concrete Contractors board and maintained American Society of Civil Engineers membership. Also in his career, he has headed the World of Concrete seminar program, and served as Portland Cement Association director of Construction Information Services and ACI managing director of Engineering. Malisch, who is set to retire from ACI at the end of 2007, plans on assuming a part-time position as American Society of Concrete Contractors technical director, and will continue in a consulting role to ACI as Concrete International publisher.
