  • Creative Forming and Finishing of Tilt-Up Walls (WOC Seminar Code MO-21) Û Jan. 21, 8?11 a.m. Taking tilt-up projects to the next level, presenters Shawn Hickey of Ottawa, Ontario-based SiteCast, Inc., and TCA Executive Director Ed Sauter will cover form and shape, openings, panel placement, detailing, applied ornament, cast-in elements, and surface finishes.

  • Tilt-Up: It’s a System (WOC Seminar Code MO-04) Û Jan. 21, 1-4 p.m. Laurence Smith, P.E., of J.W. Lindsay Enterprises Ltd. in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, provides an in-depth explanation of tilt-up, emphasizing its role as a entire construction system, and how a facility should be designed as tilt-up Û not simply an alternate bid Û to capitalize on the system’s cost and time-saving benefits.

  • TCA/ACI Tilt-Up Technician/Supervisor Training (WOC Seminar Code TU-88) Û Jan. 22, 8?11 a.m. Presented by Shawn Hickey of Ottawa’s SiteCast to help prepare attendees for the certification exam, the training seminar covers all areas in which a tilt-up supervisor is expected to be knowledgeable, including safety, plan reading, site preparation, scheduling, foundations, slabs on grade, layout, forming, placement, erection, structural systems and concrete properties.

  • ACI Tilt-Up Certification Exam (WOC Seminar Code WE-TUS) Û Jan. 23, 3:30?5:30 p.m. Upon successful completion, participants attain ACI/TCA Certified Supervisor or Technician designation.

  • TCA Annual Meeting and Awards Breakfast (WOC Source Code A35) Û Jan. 24, 8?11 a.m., registration at the Las Vegas Hilton beginning at 7:30 a.m. Features a presentation, Setting Members Apart One Web Page at a Time, highlighting features to be found at www.tilt-up.org. Also, board of directors nominees will be elected, and a short business session conducted. The program will end with a presentation of Tilt-Up Achievement Awards.
