The 2007 Annual Conference of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers will be Nov. 11-13 at the Ritz-Carlton in Naples, Fla. Its Shaken Not Stirred Û Finding the Perfect Mix theme reflects the program’s agenda: helping attendees pinpoint markets and strategies to achieve ongoing success, despite the cyclical nature of the off-road equipment industry. The event provides a yearly educational and networking opportunity for executives and senior managers with equipment manufacturers and service providers.

The AEM annual conference will feature keynote speaker Marcus Buckingham, a best-selling author and expert on leadership and management practices. AEM will conduct its Annual Business Meeting during the conference, with director elections and a progress report on the association’s strategic plan initiatives. Separately, AEM has named Anne Forristall Luke to the newly created position of vice president of Government Affairs in the association’s Washington, D.C., office. Notes AEM President Dennis Slater, We’re increasing public policy outreach to more aggressively make our members’ interests known, and Anne’s expertise will complement and strengthen these efforts. Accordingly, Luke will work with AEM’s Vice President of Global Public Policy and association committees to expand relationships with Congressional offices, the executive branch, federal agencies, and the public.

Bringing to her new role 25-plus years of Washington government relations and public affairs experience in both the public and private sectors, Luke served previously as president of the U.S. Tuna Foundation; principal at MGN Inc., an independent government relations firm; senior vice president and director of Public Affairs for Ketchum Inc., a global public relations company; and, in a variety of government capacities, including Legislative Director for former Congressman Dennis Eckart (D-OH), professional staff member of the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee, and policy and legislative aide in the Environment and Natural Resources Division of the U.S. Department of Justice.
