Offering landscape architects, builders and contractors in North America two distinctive new paver products, company representatives note, Old-castle Architectural’s Belgard Brand has introduced the Urbana and Arbel Collections. Urbana features the look of elegant clean-cut stone, they add, while Arbel provides the appearance of natural flagstone.

The Urbana paver is a modular system available in 80-mm thickness and three sizes, plus an optional large square for a more random look. Offered in a range of slate textures, Urbana reportedly suits both commercial and residential applications. It is more efficient to install than natural bluestone, product developers note, and can save 30 to 40 percent on labor.

For an authentic flagstone appearance in segmental pavements, the Arbel collection includes one patented interlocking shape, providing what product developers note is ease in installation that reduces placement time by more than 30 percent. The collection spans a wide range of natural stone textures, deep joints and natural color blends.

Initial Arbel and Urbana market results indicate they are the two most successful new products in Belgard’s history. According to Rick Cawston, vice president of Belgard Hardscapes for Oldcastle Architectural, The success is a direct result of the growing demand for unique and distinctive products, as well as Belgard’s commitment to lead the industry with product innovation.
