CTLGroup in Skokie, Ill., has appointed Dr. Jeffrey Garrett president and CEO, effective July 1. He succeeds Anthony Fiorato, who is retiring but will continue as chairman of the board.
Since joining CTL Group in October 2001, Dr. Garrett has served as senior principal structural engineer and manager of the Structural Engineering and Mechanics practice group, and been a key leader of Forensic Engineering practice. He has also served the firm more broadly through participation in strategic planning, and in the planning for upcoming renovations to the Skokie facilities. Prior to joining CTLGroup, Dr. Garrett held structural design and management positions at several firms including Jack D. Gillum & Associates, St. Louis; Henningson Durham & Richardson, Omaha; Hansen Lind Meyer, Chicago; and Exponent Failure Analysis Associates, Chicago.
Dr. Garrett holds B.A. in Architecture and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Civil (Structural) Engineering from Iowa State University. He is licensed as a structural engineer in Illinois and professional engineer in 13 states.
