Reversing the westward flow typical of concrete innovations, Owens Corning is rolling out its Cultured Stone precast veneer products through a distribution network serving eastern and western Europe. [Last year’s] acquisition of The Modulo/ParMur Group, a market-leading producer and distributor of manufactured stone veneer in Europe, paved the way for the expansion, says Owens Corning Cultured Stone President Chuck Stein. The acquisition provided synergies in manufacturing and technology that will extend value to customers around the world and position Owens Corning to capitalize on the global growth of manufactured stone veneer.

Toledo, Ohio-based Owens Corning cites a world-leading position in manufactured stone products, and notes that Cultured Stone is the most recognized and specified veneer brand of its kind in the U.S. The veneer units are manufactured stones using a lightweight concrete material cast in molds taken from carefully selected natural stone. Cast from thousands of molds, no two stones are ever reproduced with the exact same coloring. Suited to interior and exterior applications, Cultured Stone units are cast in more than 20 textures and 80 colors, plus numerous blended texture and color options.
