The National Concrete Masonry Association completed election of its 2007 board of directors and executive committee. New board members include: Region I Û Richard Jucha, R.I. Lampus Co., Springdale, Pa.; Region II Û Bill Sandbrook, Oldcastle Architectural Inc.-East, Atlanta; Region III Û William R. Oberfield, Oberfield’s, Inc., Delaware, Ohio; Region IV Û Lisa Lackovic of Watkins Concrete Block, Omaha, Neb.; Region V Û Michael Finch of RCP Block & Brick, Lemon Grove, Calif.; and, Region VI Û Terry MacDow of Shaw Brick, Lantz, Nova Scotia. Richard O’Connor of Taylor Concrete Products, Watertown, N.Y., joins the board as at-large member, while Jerry Findley of Columbia Machine becomes associate member representative.

Executive committee members, elected to two-year terms, are: Richard Jucha (Region I), William Oberfield (Region III) and Michael Finch (Region V), plus Kevin Curtis, Besser Co. (Associate Member Division Board). Mark Wilhelms of Kirchner Block & Brick in Bridgeton, Mo., joins the executive committee as at-large member for a one-year term. (Regional elections for the executive committee occur in even-numbered years for even-numbered regions and in odd-numbered years for odd-numbered regions.)

The National Ready Mixed Concrete Association has named Susan Bachenheimer manager of Education Programs. Within the group’s Technical Resources/Education Department, she will focus on launching STEPS, a program the NRMCA board approved last fall, and address industry recruitment and retention. Bachenheimer will assist industry personnel in completing professional development course work in Technical, Operational and Production, Marketing and Sales, or Business Management tracks. She will also pursue other offerings to enhance the knowledge and skill set of ready mixed concrete professionals, industry suppliers, and specifiers.

The National Precast Concrete Association has named Gregory Stutz vice president of Technical Services. He will direct technical staff, represent the association in technical and industry standards forums, and oversee all NPCA technical committees. An industry veteran with more than 20 years of precast engineering experience, Stutz joins NPCA after a two-year detour in the health sciences industry. Prior to then, he headed engineering, research and development, and quality assurance at Hartford Concrete Products in Hartford City, Ind., where he also served as vice president of Business Development and Administration. In the latter role, he expanded the company’s reach to prestressed structural components, water detention and retaining wall systems, while pioneering a new network of business and government contracts.

The Tilt-Up Concrete Association announced the election of new board members and officers for 2007. David Tomasula, structural engineer for Con/Steel Tilt-Up Systems, was elected president of the TCA board. A member of the tilt-up construction industry for 11-plus years, Tomasula is a charter member of the International Association on Structural Control and an active member on the Structural Committee of the Concrete Council of St. Louis.

Other officers re-elected to the 2007 board include: President-elect Alan Wilson, AIA of Haskell Co. (Jacksonville, Fla.); Jimmie Ballard of Shepler’s (Conroe, Texas); Glenn Doncaster of Citadel Contractors (Raleigh, N.C.); and, Philip Kopf of Kopf Consulting Group (Atlanta). New to the board is Ed McGuire of Bob Moore Construction, Dallas.
