Hanson Structural Precast Pacific, a division of Hanson Pipe & Precast, announces its completion of a Rose Bowl expansion project, adding 25,000 sq. ft. in underground home and visitor locker room facilities. Due to upcoming events scheduled at the famed Pasadena, Calif., stadium, rapid construction was essential. Moreover, expanding the locker rooms while maintaining the look of the Rose Bowl and conserving limited land surrounding the stadium were priorities. Accordingly, the Rose Bowl Operating Co. elected to build the facilities 30 feet below ground, using precast to meet the tight deadline and withstand pressure on the underground structure.

Hanson Structural’s Pacific regional office in Irwindale, Calif., services the state. Two plants in the region produce a range of products, including reinforced hollow-core planks, girders, columns, double tees, stairs, spandrels, walls and insulated wall panels. All production from the plants will be brought under the roof of a new operation in Adelanto, Calif., scheduled for a 2008 opening.
