Smith-Midland Corp. officials announce the reintroduction of Concrete Safety Systems, a division of the company that specializes in the rental of precast safety barriers featuring the J-J Hooks connection system. Safety Systems will offer customers additional services at lower cost, according to John Sieber, general manager. Customers can use our full-service company to assist in a variety of ways, from delivery to set up to barrier removal, he says. The advantages of renting barriers include not having to maintain extensive storage space and or invest in large amounts of barrier inventory. Any contractor or agency that needs to control traffic or pedestrians can benefit from barrier rental, he adds.

The J-J Hooks barrier connection system has been crash tested to National Cooperative Highway Research Program 350 standards. Self-aligning, identical-ended J-J Hook connectors allow for quick, easy installation of the barrier, product engineers note. As the system incorporates no loose hardware, a single section can be removed without disturbing adjacent sections.
