Crh Elevates Upper Ranks At Oldcastle

Dublin-based CRH Plc, parent company of Oldcastle’s Materials Group (Washington, D.C.) and Products and Distribution Group (Atlanta) has announced executive promotions effective this month. Oldcastle Materials CEO Tom Hill becomes CEO of Oldcastle Inc., CRH’s Atlanta-based holding company for North American businesses. A 26-year Oldcastle veteran, Hill has headed the Materials operations as president and CEO since 1991 and 2000, respectively. He is assuming additional responsibilities of his Oldcastle Products and Distribution Group counterpart, Joe McCullough, who retired at the end of June and continues in a nonexecutive advisory role as Oldcastle Building Products chairman.

Replacing Hill will be Mark Towe, who was named Oldcastle Materials chief operating officer in 1997, and president in 2000. His replacement is Doug Black, who joined Oldcastle corporate as a vice president of development, then served as an Oldcastle Precast Group regional manager prior to his 2002 appointment as Oldcastle Architectural Products Group CEO.

Replacing Black is Bill Sandbrook, president of Oldcastle Materials West since 2003, who will also oversee CRH’s South American products businesses. Stepping into his post is John Parson, who since 2003 has been president of Staker-Parson, Oldcastle Materials’ Utah, Idaho and Oregon franchise.
