Continuing to expand the network of companies delivering CarbonCast precast technology, AltusGroup, Inc. has named Meadow Burke Products and A.L. Patterson its most recent Innovation Partners. As part of AltusGroup’s technology partnering effort, both companies will contribute to the development of precast innovations, currently centering on the use of carbon fiber reinforcement to improve strength, lower weight and reduce corrosion in precast components. They will also have access to co-marketing opportunities at industry events, AltusGroup educational sessions, and advertising in trade publications.

A leading manufacturer of precast lifting and handling inserts and hardware, structural connections, slotted inserts and concrete accessories, Tampa, Fla.-based Meadow Burke Products also provides engineering services for lifting and erection. Its five manufacturing plants and twenty service centers meet construction needs nationwide.

A.L. Patterson in Fallsington, Pa., has developed a single-source supplier approach to serve precast/prestressed concrete producers. Besides in-house manufacturing capabilities, the company handles sales representation and distribution services of manufacturers of steel products, forms, form liners, and curing systems.

AltusGroup’s CarbonCast products use C-GRID, a resin-bonded carbon fiber grid, as a secondary reinforcement to replace steel mesh and shear trusses in precast products such as architectural cladding, insulated sandwich wall panels, hardwall panels and double tees. Company officials emphasize that CarbonCast technology also provides a durable, lightweight alternative for foundations, fa¡ades and deck panels on residential structures. Supplied by Anderson, S.C.-based TechFab, LLC, C-GRID reportedly has more than four times the tensile strength of steel and is not subject to rust, corrosion, staining and spalling.
