AT-A-GLANCE

As president, Jim Weber formerly served at the helm of West Bend, Wis.-based Bend Industries, Inc., now an Oldcastle enterprise since it joined the Architectural Products Group in March 2002. Under the new ownership, Weber continues with Bend as a consultant, dividing his time between the company and his new position as 2006 chairman of the National Concrete Masonry Association.

From its headquarters just northwest of Milwaukee, Bend Industries has manufactured masonry products since 1917. The producer was formerly known as West Bend Concrete Products, a fabricator of drain tile and concrete block. Bend acquired Yahr’s Ready Mix in 1991.

Bend is a major regional producer of concrete masonry, retail hardscape products, and ready mixed concrete for the eastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois markets. Its manufacturing facilities are located in West Bend and Appleton, Wis., with a showroom in Sheboygan. Bend’s product line includes concrete masonry units, concrete and clay brick and stone products, permeable erosion-control materials, retaining walls, and landscaping materials ranging from edging to pavers. The company manufactures and markets Belgard paving stones and Celtik Wall, Versa-Lok, and Anchor Wall retaining systems.
