At its Waldorf, Md. facilities, Chaney Enterprises presented the College of Southern Maryland a late-model mixer truck to augment the school’s commercial training fleet. Noted Chaney President and CEO Bill Childs, By the donation of this mixer combined with training provided by CSM, we hope to open the doors for lifelong careers of individuals as delivery professionals who can earn substantial salaries Û and to live the American Dream. In turn, CSM Industrial Training Department Director Arlene Kirby affirmed, This vehicle is a valuable asset to our Commercial Vehicle Operator Training program and will be incorporated into the college’s commercial operator driver’s program as an additional career option for students.

The mixer was available for trainings in January. The course highlights ready-mixed truck driver duties including safety precautions, equipment inspection and maintenance procedures, product knowledge, product distribution maneuvers, customer service, and accident scene disposition.

Providing commercial operator training since 1992 with 1,000-plus graduates from its program, CSM has obtained recertification from the Professional Truck Driver Institute (PTDI) for its truck driver-training course that meets industry standards.
