New safety, performance features lift HawkeyePedershaab PipeMasters

HawkeyePedershaab Concrete Technologies has machined successors to its Model 2100 and 2206 PipeMaster Unloaders. The new Model 3100 and 3206 PipeMasters can unload pipe as quickly as they can be rolled off the truck and be operated by truck drivers alone. Their smooth hydraulic action virtually eliminates breakage as pipe is securely cradled between the frame and fork during unloading, then gently lowered to the ground at a controlled rate.

CEI tracks cement savings in four-bin, aggregate-blending plant specimens

Demonstrations of the latest Fusion Hybrid-Process Ready Mix Plant, which is equipped with four aggregate bins and features performance-boosting design changes from the original model, reveal cement-optimizing potential. CEI Enterprises credits the Fusion series’ precision aggregate blending—applied to ready mixed concrete and mimicking methods proven in asphalt pavement mix production—with a 17 percent cement savings versus standard methods. Aggregate blending, coupled with established cement and water metering, represents a hybrid process that yields a matrix with fewer voids than concrete produced through conventional aggregate batching and transfer, CEI engineers contend.

Market gains augment Kenworth’s timely T880 series build out

Kenworth Truck hosted a mid-summer gathering for concrete, equipment and trucking publications to showcase T880 series models, geared to concrete mixer, dump and other vocational market applications. Between company headquarters and a demonstration track in Kirkland and Snoqualmie, Wash., Kenworth management, marketing and engineering staff reflected on a favorable truck market outlook; customers’ embrace of the set back axle T880, well positioned after three years on the market and much on track to succeed the longstanding T800 model; solid response to the T880S, a set forward axle version introduced at ConExpo-Con/Agg 2017; Paccar MX engine and powertrain components’ increasing traction among T880 and T660 series deliveries; and, two proprietary front axles joining the Paccar Powertrain program.
