Concrete Technologies Worldwide (CTW) and Hawkeye Group officials have formed a new enterprise offering pipe, precast and concrete masonry producers across the globe a range of technologies, integrated plant solutions, and capital equipment brands. "This merger is a significant step in the advancement of the vision of [CTW's] Fred Schultz and [Hawkeye's] Schmidgall family of providing the manufactured concrete products industry engineered solutions for increasing productivity," says Rick Shoemaker, president and CEO of new entity. "The unique situation where each company has complementary technologies, geographic markets, and products allows us to offer our customers expanded choices for their plant needs."

The merger spans Hawkeye's Mediapolis, Iowa-based pipe and precast machinery business and CTW's Green Bay, Wis., and Bronderslev, Denmark, operations. The latter location is home to Pedershaab Concrete Technologies, an old-line, global player in pipe and manhole equipment that CTW acquired in 2003. Domestically, CTW concentrates on turnkey plant projects incorporating Pedershaab, Masa (landscape unit and block), and Echo (hollow core) machinery, plus a host of specialized components for manufactured concrete. Under the merged entity, CTW's Fred Schultz, Pedershaab's Bent Holme, and Hawkeye principals, the Schmidgall family, will continue in their key roles. All CTW, Pedershaab and Hawkeye subsidiaries will continue to market and service their current lines and honor agency agreements, while offering increased capabilities gained as a result of blending engineering and technical resources, and an expanded industry presence.
