Rick Pennell has begun a two-year term as chairman of AltusGroup, a partnership of 13 precast producers fabricating CarbonCast architectural and structural components. Pennell is CEO of Greenville, S.C.-based Metromont Corp., a charter Altus member that has logged the highest volume of CarbonCast shipments since the group’s 2003 formation. He succeeds Oldcastle Precast-Building Systems President Chris Pastorius, whose two-year term saw the organization expand into new markets and introduce CarbonCast Insulated Architectural Cladding for mid- to high-rise buildings.
AltusGroup board members and officers named for 2010-2011 terms are John Carson (Secretary) and John Leatham, both of carbon fiber-reinforcement supplier Chomarat North America LLC; Metromont’s Harry Gleich (Treasurer); High Concrete Group’s Gary Graziano and Mike Achilles; Oldcastle Precast’s Bob Adams, along with past-chair Chris Pastorius; Gate Precast’s Dean Gwin; and, Washington University’s Dr. Thomas Harmon. High Concrete’s Achilles and Consulting Engineers Group’s Larbi Sennour chair AltusGroup marketing and technical committees, respectively.
