Rocky Mountain Prestress/Hawaii and Grace Pacific Precast have merged to form GPRM Prestress, maintaining each partner's staff and operations in Kalpolei, 25 miles west of Honolulu. The merger was effective in early January and combines Rocky Mountain's 10-acre property, geared for architectural and structural components, with Grace Pacific's 12-acre hollow core, transportation and heavy structural product plant. GPRM Prestress will be operated as a partnership, with former Rocky Mountain/Hawaii vice president & general manager Jim Albertson assuming the new title, Director of Prestress Operations. Denver-based Rocky Mountain Prestress opened a Hawaiian satellite in 1997. Its flagship structural products plant and an architectural site, also in Denver, remain separate from GPRM. Also apart from the entity, Kalpolei-based Grace Pacific Corp. maintains an asphalt production and paving business, with seven plants on five Hawaiian islands.
